In 2018, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee established a task force to develop long-term action recommendations for orca recovery and the future sustainability of this iconic species. The task force consists of members of the Washington State Legislature and representatives from the Government of Canada; tribal, federal, local and other state governments; the private sector and the non-profit sector. The task force also includes designees from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Puget Sound Partnership.
