What if my library materials are overdue?

The library no longer charges fines for overdue material, aside from some special collections. Museum passes accrue a fine of $5 for each day overdue and have a checkout period of one week. Instruments have a $5 per day overdue and have a checkout period of three weeks.

If an item is due and no other patrons are waiting for it, the item will automatically renew 2 times without intervention. If the item reaches the renewal due date, you must contact the library to extend the loan or return the item. The standard checkout and renewal period for materials is three weeks.

You may renew an item if it’s already overdue. You may renew materials online, by phone (253.841.5454), or in person.
