What if my library materials are overdue?

The library no longer charges fines for overdue material, aside from museum passes, which are provided as a courtesy from participating museums. Museum passes accrue a fine of $5 for each day overdue and have a checkout period of one week.

If an item is due and there are no other patrons waiting for it, the item will automatically renew 2 times without intervention.  If the item reaches the renewal due date, you must contact the library to extend the loan or return the item. The standard checkout and renewal periods for books, CDs and DVDs is three weeks.

You may renew an item if it’s already overdue. You may renew materials online, by phone (253.841.5454), or in person.
