Puyallup Public Library no longer accepts Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests. However, to accommodate requests for materials not available at the library, patrons may submit a purchase request to add an item permanently to the collection. You may submit a request through email, by phone at 253.841.5454 or by visiting one of the service desks at the library. You must have a valid library card to submit a request. Submissions are reviewed by a librarian for cost and relevance to the collection. If your request is approved, you will be notified when the item is ready to be checked out.

Puyallup Public Library will issue a refund for payment for a lost item if a customer returns a cataloged item within six months of payment. A credit for the cost of the item will be automatically posted to the customer's account. The customer may request that the credit be exchanged for a refund. In such cases, a refund check will be requested from the City of Puyallup Finance Department.
You may renew items online, over the phone, or in person. Your time is extended from the day you request renewal. If another patron has placed a request for an item you have, it will not renew. if there are no holds on the item, it will automatically renew one time. You must contact the library or manually renew your items online or through our app for the second and final renewal. Standard checkout and renewal periods are 3 weeks for most items. Museum passes have a one week checkout period and may not be renewed.
The library no longer charges fines for overdue materials. If you have old fines on your account, contact the library to have them waived. If you have damaged or lost materials on your account, you are still responsible for replacement costs. You may pay by cash or a debit/credit card at one of our Express Checkout stations.
If you lose an item, we will charge your account the cost the library paid for the item. If you find a lost item and it is still in circulating condition, please return it to the library. If the item is not damaged and does not need to be replaced, we will credit your account any fees charged for losing the item once it is returned and evaluated by a staff member. Damaged items that need to be replaced are charged at the full replacement value.
The library no longer charges fines for overdue material, aside from museum passes, which are provided as a courtesy from participating museums. Museum passes accrue a fine of $5 for each day overdue and have a checkout period of one week.
If an item is due and there are no other patrons waiting for it, the item will automatically renew 1 time without intervention. If the item reaches the renewal due date, you must contact the library to extend the loan or return the item. The standard checkout and renewal periods for books, CDs and DVDs is three weeks.
