Dear Puyallup Community:
We want to collectively take a moment today as your City Council to remember and honor the brave military heroes who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. On this Memorial Day, while we cannot gather in a traditional manner, we certainly can still take time to honor those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
In 2000, the United Congress adopted a proclamation establishing a “National Moment of Remembrance” that occurs at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day. We would encourage all of you to join us at 3:00 pm wherever you are to pause and remember those men and women who have died in military service to the United States.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and remembrance today to these heroes and to the grieving families and loved ones left behind.
