What's Better Than Good Eats? More Good Eats!

Tacos for food truck notice

The City has commenced with a food truck pilot program in the downtown. This six-month pilot program will continue through mid-October.

Burger for food truck postThe program will allow food trucks along certain streets, on private property within the Central Business District (CBD) and CBD-Core areas, and in select city-owned parking lots as shown on the attached map. They cannot provide or utilize tables, chairs or audio amplification in conjunction with their operations. All vendors must be certified by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.

Food trucks are known for their smaller menus of popular selections. They offer a convenient, on-the-go experience yet personal interaction with whoever prepares your meal or snack.

The City expects to begin issuing food truck permits in the near future. This pilot program will extend for six months, at which time the City will consider whether to continue the program beyond its pilot stage.
