[ARCHIVED] Hearing Examiner Decision Entered on New Hope Significant Impact Business License

UPDATE: Although the hearing examiner spent over 150 hours reviewing records, listening to testimony and issuing her findings and decision on New Hope’s appeal of the City’s requirements relating to its significant impact business license, and while the City would have accepted the hearing examiner’s decision, New Hope now contests it and has filed a petition in Pierce County Superior Court seeking judicial review and reversal of portions of the examiner’s decision. (Nov. 21)

After the City of Puyallup required certain mitigation conditions pertaining to the operations of the New Hope Resource Center pursuant to the City's significant impact business license ordinance, New Hope contested the mitigation conditions in an appeal before a hearing examiner.  After lengthy proceedings, the hearing examiner returned a decision on September 24, 2018, and therein affirmed the mitigation conditions, with exceptions.
