[ARCHIVED] Your Puyallup Address--In the City? Or Out?

Where pin

Many people who have Puyallup addresses naturally think they live in the city, but some of them do not. That’s because a large number of Puyallup addresses (as assigned by the US Postal Service) are located in unincorporated Pierce County, beyond Puyallup’s city limits.

If you’re not sure whether you live in or outside of the city, there's an easy way to determine the answer. Simply enter your address into the search function on this map and click on your property to return a “yes” or “no” regarding your Puyallup residency.

One of the biggest differences between living in Puyallup or outside is the source of public services including law enforcement, Code compliance and business licensing. Residents of Puyallup must receive garbage collection service, and they pay stormwater fees which fund facilities designed to reduce nuisance flooding and keep our local waterways clean. Those who live in Puyallup also pay some of their property taxes to the city for essential services and beyond, including maintenance and operation of our library, which is owned and operated by the City.
