NOTICE IS HEREBY
GIVEN that sealed bids for the CLARKS
CREEK CHANNEL AND BANK STABILIZATION be
received at the City of Puyallup, City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 333
South Meridian (4th Floor), Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington 98371
until 2:00 p.m., 06/05/2018. Bids
will be opened, read, and tabulated immediately following in the City Council Chambers,
at 333 S Meridian (5th Floor), Puyallup, Washington. Proposals
received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. Bids are to
be submitted only in the form provided in the Project Manual, and all bids must
be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the “City of
Puyallup” of value not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid.
The
improvements for which bids will be received are described as follows:
Project Description:
The project consists of delivering logs and other woody
material and cobble into 2,400 linear feet of Clarks Creek and 700 linear feet
of Clarks Tributary to be installed in the channel using heavy equipment.
Material shall be delivered from the upper access routes into the stream
channels using cable skylines. Installation shall take place during the
“in-water work window” as determined by the project permits. The project
purpose is to stabilize the channel and banks of the creek channels to reduce
and halt erosion of the channel and bank, resulting in significant reductions
of sediment being delivered downstream and to the Puyallup River. Following
construction, the site shall be stabilized and re-vegetated per the project
plans.
All work shall be physically complete
within eighty (80) working days of
receiving a Notice to Proceed. Time extensions may be granted for rainfall days
that prevent work that is already in progress. The City of Puyallup reserves the right to accept a proposal of the
lowest responsible bidder, reject any or all bids, and to waive
irregularities in the bid or in the bidding.
Pre
Bid Site Visit: A mandatory site
visit will be held on Wednesday, May 30, at 10:00 a.m. Meet at the project site
on 23rd Ave SW, Puyallup, WA 98371. See plan set for project
location. Bidders who are not present at
the mandatory pre bid site visit will be determined to be non-responsive and
their bids rejected.
All
bidders shall download the digital plans as indicated in Section A, Online
Access. Hard copies WILL NOT BE SOLD for this project. The Project Manual (Bid Documents) may be
examined at locations noted in A below, and are available for viewing and
purchase as outlined in A below:

Financing of the Project has been
provided, and payment to the Contractor by regular monthly payments for labor
and materials furnished will be by City check. The City expressly reserves the
right to reject any and all Bids and to waive minor informalities.

Engineer’s estimated range for this project is between $2,200,000 and $2,450,000
