For several years, the City of Puyallup has worked to ensure the best of two options for the future SR 167/Meridian/Valley Avenue interchange when SR 167 is extended between Meridian and I-5.
As described on the City's website, Puyallup has consistently advocated for a full (rather than half) Single Point Urban Interchange, or SPUI, at this location. A full SPUI will truly improve safety and reduce congestion in this area, facilitating the efficient movement of traffic to a much greater extent than a half SPUI.
