NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for the Shaw Road Improvements Project be received at the City of Puyallup, City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 333 South Meridian (4th Floor), Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington 98371 until 2:00 p.m., February 8, 2018.  Bids will be opened, read, and tabulated immediately following in the City Council Chambers, at 333 S Meridian (5th Floor), Puyallup, Washington. Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. Bids are to be submitted only in the form provided in the Project Manual, and all bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the “City of Puyallup” of value not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid.

The improvements for which bids will be received are described as follows:

Project Description: Reconstruction of Shaw Road between 23^rd Ave SE and Manorwood Drive. The roadway section will be constructed using pervious concrete, and will include two travel lanes, a two-way left turn lane, traffic islands, landscaped buffer, pervious concrete sidewalk on one side, a porous HMA shared use path on one side, pedestrian crossing systems at 3 locations, ITS improvements, sanitary sewer improvements, and restoration. The project has no Federal Funding.

All work shall be physically complete within 180 working days of receiving a Notice to Proceed. Time extensions may be granted for rainfall days that prevent work that is already in progress. The City of Puyallup reserves the right to accept a proposal of the lowest responsible bidder, reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding.

Pre Bid Site Visit:  Though not mandatory, it is highly encouraged that any respective bidders visit the site prior to submitting a bid.

All bidders must download the digital plans as indicated in Section C, Online Access. Hard copies WILL NOT BE SOLD for this project.  The Project Manual (Bid Documents) may be examined at locations noted in A and B below, and are available for viewing and purchase as outlined in C below:

Financing of the Project has been provided, and payment to the Contractor by regular monthly payments for labor and materials furnished will be by City check. The City expressly reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive minor informalities.

The Engineer’s estimated range for this project is between $6,000,000 and $7,100,000. (RANGE IN $50,000 INCREMENTS IF GREATER THAN $500,000)
