City Gallery, located on the fifth floor of Puyallup City Hall, is currently featuring the work of photographer Mike Zavadlov.
Zavadlov lives in Forks, where he owns and operates Mike Z’s Guide Service. He began his career of guiding fisherman in Alaska and has been guiding full-time for twenty years.
Zavadlov earned his B.S. in Biology from Portland State University. When not guiding, he spends his time canoeing, bow hunting elk, and photographing the wonder and beauty of the Olympic mountains and their forested valleys, lakes and rivers.
“Mike’s knowledge and respect for nature and life are immediately apparent to me in his art,” said Magda Cockerline, a board member of Arts Downtown. “He captures the experience of the forest, river and plain so that the viewer can feel what they might never otherwise be able to see. His work lifts my spirits and startles me with the beauty of the earth.”
Zavadlov’s work will show until August 7th. City Gallery is located at 333 S. Meridian, and open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The gallery is curated by local arts organization Arts Downtown.
