Please be advised, starting on September 8th, 2021, a section of 26th Street NW will be closed for approximately 2 days, weather permitting, to allow for paving reconstruction. From W Stewart to 11th Ave NW and from 13th Ave NW to the 1500 block, these sections of 26th St NW will be closed. The roadway will be open to local traffic and emergency vehicles periodically. The paving reconstruction is part of the Water Main Replacement project on 26th ST NW.
This project will replace approximately 400 linear feet of 1.5-inch PVC water main with 8-inch ductile iron pipe along 26th St NW from W Stewart to 1008 26th St NW. The project also includes the replacement of 6 service lines. The project will increase available fire flow by increasing water main size to remove the flow restriction the 1.5-inch diameter pipe causes along the 26th St NW corridor.
For questions about the road closure or the project, please contact the following staff:
Craig Hale, Water Division Supervisor 253-841-5503 or 253-405-4384
Scott Hill, Street Division Supervisor 253-841-5409 or 253-341-8570
