This project is a continuation of the water main replacement in the Manorwood subdivision. Phases 2 and 3 of the project have been made possible with generous funding by the American Rescue Plan Act.
The existing water main in the Manorwood area is 4-inch and 6-inch PVC pipe. The water main was installed in the 1970s and is approaching the end of its useful service life. When this water main was installed, it was not bedded properly, resulting in numerous water main breaks and significant property damage. Phase 2 includes replacement of approximately 2,000 feet of main with 4-inch and 8-inch water pipe along 32nd Ave SE and 28th St SE. Phase 3 includes replacement of approximately 1,250 feet of main with 8-inch water pipe along 33rd Ave SE and 27th St SE. Additionally, this project will replace fire hydrants, water services, and appurtenances along these alignments.
