Salmon Springs Main Replacement, Phase 3

  1. Drew Young, P.E.

    Senior Civil Engineer

Summary

The Salmon Springs Water Main Replacement project will replace a critical water main, which supplies over half of Puyallup's potable water. The water main was originally installed in the early 1900s, and has exceeded its useful life. Phase 3 of the project continues the main replacement that was accomplished in Phase 2 of the project, which replaced approximately 3,000 linear feet of water main from the City's chlorination site, through a residential neighborhood, and on to Valley Avenue in Sumner. Phase 3 of the Salmon Springs Water Main Replacement is within the City of Sumner's right-of-way. See the project vicinity map below.

Project Schedule

Phase 3 was put out to bid in 2021. The City awarded a contract to Scarsella Brothers Inc, at the September 28, 2021 City Council meeting. Construction is estimated to begin in Fall 2021. Updates to the project schedule will be posted here. Property owners in the immediate vicinity of the project will receive mailers of construction notification.

We appreciate cooperation from the City of Sumner and residents in the area for their patience and understanding during this phase of the project.
