5th Avenue SW Rain Gardens, September 2011

Clarks Creek got a hand with water quality with the 3rd 2011 rain garden cluster installation on September 10, 2011. Located  in the 5th Ave SW and 18th Street SW Clarks Creek Neighborhood, this installation cluster included 5 rain gardens, 5 rain barrels, and riparian plantings.

Event Giveaways

Included in the event were 2 giveaway drawings. Dan Borba of Down to Earth Gadgets and Gizmos donated a rain barrel, complete with installation, to the event. It was actually won by a homeowner in the project area - so Dan was able to install it the same day!

As a 2nd giveaway drawing homeowner participant Georgia Prossick offered a custom, handmade potting table that was donated by Paul, a local citizen and builder of handmade wood items, which was won by a lucky volunteer and went home that day to brighten her garden.
