Significance:
Enhancing the services offered by its Development and Permitting Services (DPS) department is important for the City of Puyallup as it strives to meet its strategic goals of a 'Vibrant Economy', 'Livable Community', and 'Organizational Excellence'. With a view to improving the timeliness of permit issuance, quality of service delivery, and consistency and predictability for the customer, DPS has launched strategic initiatives including:
- Implementation of the new CityView permitting software for online submittal, review, and approval of permits.
- Data collection, review, and continuous improvement of the development review process.
- Review and revision of the City's development regulations and zoning codes.
- Setting and implementing customer service standards.
- Identifying and establishing a systematic process for collecting customer feedback on a consistent basis.
