Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will not disconnect customers for non-payment at this time. PSE has a COVID-19 Pandemic Assistance Fund available to individuals with significantly reduced household income due to the pandemic. PSE is making $11 million in funds available to help customers who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes customers who recently became unemployed, partially unemployed, or cannot work.
In addition, PSE continues to offer payment plans, allow customers to change a bill’s due date, and not charge late fees. PSE will continue to offer its other assistance programs, including the Warm Home Fund, PSE Home Energy Lifeline Program, and Weatherization Assistance Program for income-eligible customers.
Pierce County offers an Energy Assistance Program (EAP) to eligible individuals that pay heating bills directly to utility companies. Learn more about the program and determine eligibility on their website.
Comcast Xfinity will be providing Wi-Fi hotspots in various outdoor locations and businesses around the city, for free – consumers need to look for the hotspot “xfinitywifi” to connect. All paying Comcast customers will be given unlimited data usage for 60 days and will not experience any disconnect or late fees if they contact Comcast to notify them of their inability to pay due to COVID-19 impacts.
