College Appreciation Week: October 2 - 8, 2021

In 2019, the City of Puyallup sponsored its inaugural "College Appreciation Week" to recognize and celebrate the presence of WSU and Pierce College in Puyallup. Banners line the streets in the downtown, and members of the community and alumni from both schools gathered to enjoy free lectures, musical performances and a tailgate party, among many other events, and activities. 


September 28, 2021 - City Council Proclamation

September 29, 2021 - Environmental Impact Event

Meet at the WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center at 10 am to help clean up the site and roadside in preparation for the Tailgate Event.

October 2, 2021 - Tailgate Event*

Kick-off College Appreciation Week with a tailgater. Watch the big game on a giant inflatable screen at the WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center. Enjoy snacks, food trucks and buy some Cougar Gold. Event begins at 12:30PM. Kick-off starts at 2:30PM.

Food trucks that will be in attendance are: The Thirst Responder, Carolina Grill, and Starvin Marvin's Pizza Truck

*This event will be following all current TPCHD COVID-19 guidelines and mask requirements.

October 6, 2021 – Evening of Music at Pierce College

Join us for both live and pre-recorded instrumental student performances being held in several spaces through the Arts and Allied Health Building between 5:00-6:30pm. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the “We Are One” exhibit in our Fine Arts Gallery and learn more about the great programs Pierce College has to offer. October 7, 2021 – Environmental Impact Event 

Meet at Pierce College Puyallup between 2:00-4:00 p.m. to help clean up the east and south boarder of campus along Wildwood Park Drive where it intersects with 39th St.

Educational Institutions in Puyallup
