Volunteer Opportunities
Fill out a volunteer application
All potential volunteers at the City of Puyallup must fill out a volunteer application. Once your application is received by the city, it will be forwarded to the areas in which you have indicated interest. Department personnel will review your application and try to match it with projects currently available. All volunteers must agree to a background check.

City Hall Visitor Services Station
Our Visitor Services Station Volunteer Team warmly welcomes visitors and assists City Hall guests with questions. This position provides an opportunity to learn a lot about the services that the City provides and about how local government works. Puyallup Police Department VIPS
Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) members help to staff the front counter, do citizen patrol and more. Contact the Problem Oriented Policing Unit at (253) 770-3351 to get involved or contact the POP Unit by email
Puyallup Parks and Recreation
The City of Puyallup Parks and Recreation Department greatly appreciates the many volunteers who help to make special events a success. Puyallup Activity Center

Metro Animal Control and Adoptions
The animal shelter accepts volunteers who are dedicated and willing to work with animals on a long-term basis. No short-term volunteers please. For more information and to apply as a volunteer at the animal shelter, visit the Metro Animal Shelter online.
Puyallup Public Library
Volunteers at the Puyallup Public Library help attain the mission of lifelong learning by teaching computer classes, delivering library materials to homebound individuals, mending materials, and many other essential jobs. Potential volunteers may also want to consider joining the Friends of the Puyallup Public Library, where they assist in sponsoring programs and shaping the Library's community impact.
