The City of Puyallup's Information Technology & Communications Department handles all the aspects of technology and communications used throughout our City Government. This includes computers, networks, wireless communications, telephones, radios, and 911 operations. The Department is headed by the Director of IT & Communications, Ron Tiedeman who is assisted by the Communication's Center Manager and an Administrative Assistant.
The City's IT Staff consist of three Network Administrators, a Database Administrator and a Project Manager. They work hard to support a variety of computer system, software and hardware.
The City of Puyallup supports its own 911 Communication Center. The center coordinates all radio traffic for the City's Police, Fire and Public Works departments. Currently the facility is staffed with 13 dispatchers, a Dispatch Supervisor, an Assistant Manager and a Manager.
Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
The City of Puyallups Emergency Operation Center is located in the IT&C facility. It is a fully equipped and self supported emergency command center for use in coordinating emergency relief and assistance as may be needed. The facility is activated and staffed when there is a need to coordinate mass fire, police, and public works assistants to the citizens of Puyallup.
Computer Training Lab
The IT&C department supports a computer training lab for City sponsored computer training.
