Overview: 2nd St SE
March 9, 2010 - Multiple design options are under construction.
Overview: 9th - 94th
March 9, 2010 - Construction started during the last week of August, 2009. Throughout construction, please click here for a bi-weekly update of the construction focus and area impacts.
Initial operations will consist of clearing all of the right-of-way for the project to the same width as Pierce County's project in order to match the County improvements. The project timeline will allow a construction window for private utilities to relocate all of their equipment. This utility window may extend as long as six months, as the work is dependent upon the schedules of the various utility companies.
Once the private utility relocation's are sufficient, concurrently the city will begin underground construction of sewer, water and storm drain improvements. At the completion of the relocation of the public utilities, the city will begin construction of curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements. Preparation for paving will begin at the completion of curb installation.
Signal work can commence once the private utilities have completed their work.
Expected completion of final paving and channelization (striping of lanes) will occur in the next construction cycle as weather permits
This schedule will allow the entire roadway to be reopened to traffic by April, 2010. The Pierce County portion of the roadway, 94th Street, is likely to be completed during Summer-Fall 2009. 9th Street will not be completely closed at any time throughout the construction process.

March 9, 2010 - The plans have been completed and the city will pursue construction of the project when funding becomes available.

March 9, 2010 - Plans and specifications are complete; some additional right of way is necessary for the project. Construction will start in early 2010.

March 9, 2010 - Design options are under consideration.

March 9, 2010 - The project is on hold awaiting funding. Funding applications have been submitted.

March 9, 2010 - Right-of-way and environmental needs have been identified; right-of- way acquisition for the project is continuing. The design and specifications are anticipated to be submitted for city review in late January 2010. During the construction process, a bi-weekly update of the construction focus and area impacts will be published on this site.
Overview: Bridge Street Water Line Replacement
March 9, 2010 – The construction drawings are complete. The city of Sumner has applied for project funding, and once their road project begins, Puyallup will begin the upgrade of the water line underneath the road.
Overview: Cherokee Sewer Basin Improvement
March 9, 2010 – Plans and specifications are complete. The project went out to bid on February 3, 2010. The bid opening was February 17th, 2010.

March 9, 2010 - The site has been purchased and graded in preparation for construction of the water tank. The conditional use permit was issued by the City of Edgewood. The design drawings of the steel tank and connecting water main are completed.

March 9, 2010 - Drafting revisions of the plans and specifications are in for city review. This project design is expected to be completed in early 2010. Staging the project into two phases is under consideration.
