The City of Puyallup Jail was built in 1968. In 1991 the facility was updated, and in 1993 the entire Police Department and Jail went through a major remodel which included the addition of a vehicle sally port, recreation area and additional office space.
The jail operates as a 52-prisoner (9 females and 43 males) misdemeanor correctional facility. In addition to Puyallup offenders, the facility is often used by other local law enforcement agencies.
Currently the Puyallup Police Department has nine Corrections Officers, two Corrections Sergeants and one Corrections Lieutenant.
