FY 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
(JAG) Program Local Solicitation Announcement
The Bureau of Justice Assistance recently announced an
opening for local solicitation grant applications. The Edward Byrne Memorial
Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is the primary source of federal
criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. The JAG Local Solicitation provides vital
funding to support a range of programs and equipment for law enforcement.
The Puyallup Police Department will submit the 2015
application to focus on strengthening the response to violence in the community.
The grant funding will enable the department to collaborate with local
businesses in order to strengthen the communication and response in an active
shooter situation. If awarded, Puyallup’s 2015 grant allocation will be $10,229
and will not require local matching funds.
