What are Police Explorers?

The Law Enforcement Explorer program, also called Police Explorers, is sponsored by various Law Enforcement agencies nationally, and affiliated with Learning For Life. The program is designed to give young men and women interested in law enforcement, first hand experience and knowledge while working side by side with the police officers.

Agencies sponsoring Explorer Posts are dedicated to the education of young people in law enforcement operations. By a department's involvement with an Explorer Posts, they promote and build a mutual understanding and working relationship between youth and law enforcement, while building higher caliber applicants for their departments. Character building, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness are major goals of police sponsored Explorer program.

Nationally, there are over 50,000 youth involved in over 2000 law enforcement Posts.
