Now accepting applications for Spring 2016 Citizens Academy. The Citizens Academy will be held Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. beginning March 2, 2016 through May 18, 2016. The Citizens' Academy graduation will be held on May 25th.

Citizens’ Academy is a program designed to provide interested citizens, who either reside or work in the City of Puyallup, an opportunity to learn firsthand about the Puyallup Police Department. The purpose of the Citizens’ Academy is to increase the understanding between the department and the citizens of Puyallup through education to familiarize them with the various facets of the Puyallup Police Department and its role in the Criminal Justice system. Citizens will learn through a variety of classroom presentations as well as experience an opportunity to ‘ride along’ with an officer during their patrol, have several field trips to the firing range, 9-1-1 center, Courts and visit the City jail.
