The holiday season is here and the New Year is just around the corner. As we look forward to planning new and exciting programs for the community, it is important we reflect on the past year's accomplishments and celebrate our successes. Then we can begin setting new goals for the coming year.

2009 was the year for expanding our special events with the free Community Camp Out program at Bradley Lake and the Fun Squad traveling recreation program in several of our local parks. We also saw increased attendance at our summer concert series, our summer track and field program and our Outdoor Cinema Series. Other very successful programs included our always popular Haunted Hayride at Wildwood Park and our Haunted Hustle road race in downtown Puyallup. Our youth and adult sports programs also continued to attract large numbers of participants for baseball, basketball, football and soccer throughout the year.

Our department also coordinated a recent expansion of the popular Puyallup Community Gardens at the Brown property. With the expansion, we will be able to accommodate even more local gardeners next season.
