The Parks and Recreation Department includes three separate divisions: Recreation Services, Senior Services, and Park Maintenance and Development. These services provide recreation programs and park facilities to enhance the quality of life in our community.
The play structure in Pioneer Park was been replaced as phase one of two updates for recreation in Pioneer Park. The aged play structure in front of the library was replaced in July 2014. After a re-bid process for the spray park and sanitary sewer work - Phase 2 of the project - construction began in November 2014, and is expected to continue through April 2015. A grand-opening event is in the planning for Memorial Day weekend 2015. View the project flyer for more information and contact numbers.
The Puyallup Parks and Recreation center is located at 808 Valley Avenue NW. It houses the Recreation Center and Parks and Recreation department administration offices.
Senior Services is located in the Puyallup Activity Center, located at 210 West Pioneer. Senior Services operates a number of programs including:
The Parks and Recreation Department is also in charge of a number of programs such as parks and trail planning, enhancement of parks and public lands, management of park projects, street tree program, parks and building maintenance, operation of Pioneer Park Pavilion, and operation of the city's cemetery, Woodbine Cemetery.
