Puyallup Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan

About our plan

While a city responsibility by law, the Emergency Management Plan is operated jointly by the city and Pierce County to avoid duplications of effort in carrying out its functions. The city maintains a comprehensive, all-hazards Emergency Management Plan which is reviewed and updated on a continual basis.

The program, in cooperation with the American Red Cross, maintains a capability to shelter up to 300 people at any given time in partnership with three facilities with an option for a fourth facility when emergencies and disasters occur. We either test the plans through annual exercises or actual events.
