City of Puyallup Development Services Department Master Plan Submittals
The City of Puyallup Development Services Department in an effort to provide our customers with easy, efficient and cost-effective means to pursue their development plans is now offering two types of over the counter permits. Single Family Residential One Story Detached Garage and Single Family Residential Uncovered Decks and Porch Master Plan Permits.
No Need To Draw Building Plans
The Garage Master Plan is limited in size to a maximum dimension of 32' feet in each direction. The wood framed walls cannot exceed 10' feet in height and the garage cannot be located closer than 3' feet to a property line.
The Deck and Porch Master Plan is limited to single level decks/porches, as a reminder, decks/porches less than 30" above finished grade does not require a permit but will still need to meet setback requirements.
Just fill out the master plan work sheets, permit application and have them along with your site plan reviewed at the counter by the development services staff members while you wait. Customers should be able to start work immediately on permits that do not require any significant reviews. It is critical that such customers are able to leave our office, with approvals in-hand, so they can start these minor projects without delay.

Permit applications must be submitted prior to 4:00 p.m. of the business day. This will allow staff enough time to process the application request.
All electrical permits are reviewed and issued by the State Department of Labor and Industries.
