Director's Message

The Development Services Department provides centralized development related services in a single department. Our department is a team of dedicated professionals, who work on behalf of the City of Puyallup to provide you with the absolute best customer service in planning, engineering, building, permitting, fire prevention and code enforcement. Over and above development review, the department is involved in a variety of land use-oriented special projects which benefit the community.  These include economic development, annexations, housing policies, storm water outreach, historic preservation and many other items.

Our team cares about the people and projects that come into the City of Puyallup. We appreciate every applicant’s desire to invest in our community and take very seriously our role to help you succeed. We strive to discover, communicate, and implement solutions which work for applicants as well as the community. Development Services is here to provide entitlement and permitting processes that are efficient, predictable, and transparent, with no surprises along the way, and services that are both timely and accurate.
