Friends of the Puyallup Public Library
The Puyallup Public Library needs your support and the support of all its friends. Joining the Friends of the Library means that you have the opportunity to make your library even better!
Annual Meeting - Thursday, February 26, 2015
Do you remember the old Puyallup Library? The really old Puyallup Library? The beautiful brick Carnegie Library that stood just about where the Rose Garden in Pioneer Park is today? Well, then, do you remember the kind of old Puyallup Library? The modern one-story building that took the place of the really old Library? It was situated where the Pioneer Park Pavilion is today. The beautiful structure we currently know as the Puyallup Public Library was more recently built by Puyallup citizens and tax-payers. All these buildings have served their purpose well. They were and are wonderful places, places that have created memories for each of us.
Over the years, the purpose of the Library hasn’t changed. It is, however, an “idea place” and just wait until you hear about all the great ideas being created to support the mission of our Library!

Thursday, February 26, 2015
6:30 - 8:00 pm
Library Meeting Rooms
Library Services Director Dr. Tim Wadham will talk about the future vision for our Library and it’s nothing short of exciting!
Since the Friends organization covers 100% of the cost of Library programming, you’ll find out all about the wildly successful and award-winning programs for children and adults being created by staff librarians.
Dr. Wadham will let you in on the details of the Puyallup Public Library’s third Annual Festival of Books and upcoming author visits. In previous years, we've sponsored J.A. Jance, Graham Nash, Susan Cooper and others.
Find out about Friends of the Library fundraising efforts through bookstore profits and Thrift Books re-sale.
As always, we will be voting for new Board members at our Annual Meeting and accepting membership dues for the 2015 membership year. The following members have been nominated for a 3-year term: Desta Taylor, Chris Carr, Judy Zimmerman, Julie Blankenship and Kathy Warren. Nominations will also be taken from the floor.
Please join us and bring a friend!
This is an exciting time to be a part of the Puyallup Public Library.
2015 Membership Fees
Membership fees are a key revenue component in generating dollars to meet our budget commitments. With the New Year comes our appeal to you to renew your annual membership. We currently have 85 members including Board members. The Board’s goal is to grow to 200 members during 2015. As you renew your membership, please tell your friends and neighbors about the importance of their support of the Friends of the Puyallup Public Library.
You can click here to print the membership form (pdf) or you may pick up one next time you visit our Library. While there are four membership fee levels, there is an option not listed: Other. “OTHER” may be used as a donation “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” a friend or family member. All such remembrances will be noted in our next newsletter.
Your membership fee is tax deductible as the Friends of the Puyallup Library is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization, tax id# 91-1108282.
