The Commission reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding amendments to the Puyallup Comprehensive Plan, amendments to land use regulations in the Puyallup Municipal Code, and the assigned zoning for proposed annexations.
The Design Review and Historic Preservation Board is a decision making body that reviews and renders decisions on qualifying applications submitted to the city for projects occurring in the CBD-Core and CBD zones for conformance with the adopted Downtown Design Guidelines. The Board also administers the City's Historic Preservation program.
Tonight, the Planning Commission and the Design Review & Historic Preservation Board will be meeting jointly to discuss the ongoing topic of Downtown Character.
