The Puyallup Public Library will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the original 1913 Carnegie Library Building with a day full of fun, literature, and history. During the evening open house, the Library Foundation will seek donations to match a $12,000 grant from Jerry Korum to create online access to the collection housed in the library's local history room.
Events planned for the open house include:
Meet and have books signed by local authors and illustrators, including Bonny Becker, Laura McGee Kvasnosky, Suzanne Selfors, and others.
- A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to climb up into the Library's clock tower. A donation and signed liability release will be required.
Representatives from the Puyallup Historical Scoiety at Meeker Mansion and the South Hill Historical Society will be on hand to share their expertise about Puyallup history.
Items for sale will include original art by Stephan Pastis and a 100th anniversary quilt.
