Learn English / Aprenda Ingles
As part of our Strategic Plan the Puyallup Public Library strives to be a ‘Doorway to the World’, by promoting literacy and responding to the diverse needs of the community.
One of the ways we support these objectives is by offering a variety of materials and resources to assist foreign language speakers in their quest to master the English language. Located on the first floor of the library is our English Language Learning collection which consists of books, CD’s and DVDs to assist in that process. The Mango Language database, which is available 24 hours a day from our website’s ‘Catalog and More’ tab, offers training modules in 17 different languages for English language learning.
In addition we are hosting an ELL class offered by Bates Technical College on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9-11:30. Registration is easy, just show up to any class. The $25.00 fee can be waived for qualifying students. All questions about these classes can be directed to Antonia at Bates Technical College (253) 604-0003.
