			<title>Rating Library Services</title>
			<link>http://www.cityofpuyallup.org/blog/directors-blog/rating-library-services/</link>
			<description>The City of Puyallup will be facing a large budget&amp;nbsp;shortfall with the next&amp;nbsp;biennium budget.&amp;nbsp; In order to gather much needed information, city staff&amp;nbsp;has been asking citizens to fill out surveys to help staff and City Council decide citizen priorities.

Likewise the Puyallup Public Library would like your input and rating of our services.&amp;nbsp; We&amp;nbsp;want to hear your opinions whether you are a current Puyallup Library user or have never used our Library.&amp;nbsp; We are very interested in your input to plan for future services and to prioritize our resources during these difficult financial times.

Each city household will receive a postcard in the mail asking you to complete an online survey.&amp;nbsp; Look for that and fill out the survey&amp;nbsp; by going to the Library's website between June 28-July 17.&amp;nbsp; You might even win a prize donated by the Puyallup Library Foundation, either an Ipad Touch or a gift card.&amp;nbsp; You can fill out the survey either online or with a paper copy.

&amp;nbsp;

Your input will help drive the kinds of service we plan to deliver for the next three years.&amp;nbsp; Your input is important.&amp;nbsp;

&amp;nbsp;

			<title>Results of April Survey</title>
			<link>http://www.cityofpuyallup.org/blog/directors-blog/results-april-survey/</link>
			<description>
This spring, in response to a $125,000 Library budget cut, we asked our public what was most important to you in materials, services, collection and if we had to cut hours, what you would recommend.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;We received over 250 responses.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Click here to view the results (pdf), which include how people&amp;nbsp;voted, the age of respondents, and all the comments the public made about the library.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;We asked these questions because we anticipate more cuts coming in the next biennum budget for year 2011-2012.

We have more surveys coming your way.&amp;nbsp;

1.&amp;nbsp; Visit the City's website to take a general survey about services offered by the city and what is most important to you:&amp;nbsp; www.cityofpuyallup.org

Budget Survey - June 10 - June 17

2.&amp;nbsp; Visit the library's website between June 28 and July17&amp;nbsp;to take a longer survey about programs and services.&amp;nbsp; This survey will help us plan for the next three years, when our budget will be even leaner.&amp;nbsp; All respondents, provided they leave contact information, will be added to a drawing for a choice of either an IPod Touch or a gift card, provided by the Puyallup Library Foundation.

			<title>New Loan Periods</title>
			<link>http://www.cityofpuyallup.org/blog/directors-blog/new-loan-periods/</link>
			<description>I always think of September 1 as the start of something new and we picked September 1 to implement a change in fines and loan times. Customers can now check out the following collections longer:

&amp;middot; New books, from 14 to 28 days, with one renewal of 28 days

&amp;middot; Quick Picks, our adult paperbacks on the first floor, from 14 to 28 days

&amp;middot; Non fiction VHS and DVDs from 7 days to 28 days, with one renewal of 28 days

&amp;middot; Theme Boxes, from 14 to 28 days, with one renewal of 28 days

We also reduced our fines for VHS movies to $.15.

These changes came about because of what you, our customers told us you wanted, based on surveys and comment forms. We changed the due dates to make it easier to remember when items are due.

We do respond to the suggestions you make because this is your library, so keep telling us how we can make your experience better.
