Feb. 22, 2010 at 3:15pm Storytime on your computer!

Computers are an instant fascination for children.  Of course it is, they see us parents on it several times a day.  They want to imitate us.  They want to play on the computer too.  Now the Puyallup Public Library offers a fun tool perfect for those moments when young children want to take over your computer.  Introducing (big fanfare), TumbleBook Library!

TumbleBook Library is a list... oh, sorry, a Library...  of books (mostly picture books) that have full audio readings and some animation.  You can create your own storytime on a computer at home or at the library.  For the beginning reader or for older kids, the books come with fun games and word help.  There is an amazing number of books to choose from.  You might be surprised at what you can find.  You even have the choice to have the book read to you, or for you to read it yourself.

To access TumbleBook Library, go to the Puyallup Public Library's webpage at www.puyalluplibrary.org.  Then click on the "Kids" tab in the top right corner.  Scroll down until you find the link!

So, the next time your children want to play on the computer, consider turning to TumbleBook Library.  Then you will know they are getting some quality literacy exposure.
