Welcome to our new website and the first entry in the Director's Blog!
Our Library has a new look and feel for our website. We knew we wanted to update our website and that we needed to expand the depth of information offered to you, our patrons. We also knew that the Library's website is the most heavily used site of any of the City of Puyallup's websites. Over the last six months in 2009, we have had over 100,000 hits on our webpage.
We have several new features for our website and will be adding more in the coming months. Some of the new and upcoming features include:
- A calendar devoted specifically to Library activities for all ages
- Our Reader's Advisory tool where you can read the first chapter of selected books
- A new resume program that allows you to create, save and access a resume from anywhere, just by entering our website and entering your library barcode and PIN
- Recommended website links that will direct you to added items of interest
- Staff blogs that will discuss policies, new services at the library, new materials and programs for all ages
- A place on our blogs for you to make comments about the services and programs we offer
- The ability to apply for a library card online
We have a fair amount of new content, but that's just the beginning. Please keep checking back regularly as we add even more. A website is a work in progress and it constantly evolves and changes. We hope that you enjoy the new design and additional information it provides. Let us know if you have any suggestions to improve this new site.
