You are invited to take part in the very first "Take Your Child to the Library Day" at the Puyallup Public Library. Children's Librarian Nadine Lipman from Waterford, Connecticut, has declared the first Saturday of February as “Take Your Child to the Library Day.” This is a wonderful opportunity for families to explore their local public library. It is also a great day for kids to get their very first library card!
From Noon to 4:30 pm everyone is invited into the Library make a paper crane. Cranes represent good luck, prosperity and peace. Supplies will be provided. You can make a crane for yourself, or for the library. As many know from the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr, Japanese lore says that building 1,000 cranes makes a person’s wish come true. When Puyallup Library reaches 1,000 cranes, we will hang them from the ceiling! What will your wish be?
The activities at the Library are FREE. No registration required. For more information about the Puyallup Public Library visit www.puyalluplibrary.org.
