2010 TAX CUTS
The City Council on November 17th, moved first reading approval of a tax levy proposal that will result in what is believed to be the largest tax cut in city history. The ordinance would drop 2010 city property taxes from $2.37 to $1.62 per $1,000 assessed valuation – a cut of 32%. The Council also directed staff to reduce private utility taxes by more than a third. Read the finance report presented to the Council.
