District 3 - Kent Boyle
Kent has been a Puyallup resident nearly all his life. Raised in the valley, he is currently residing in Manorwood with Theresa, his wife of 35 years, and daughter Sydney, a student at Emerald Ridge High School. Kent is a proud graduate of the Puyallup School system, who further attended Fort Steilacoom Community College and was an honors graduate of the Bates Technical College Radio Broadcasting Program.
Kent has worked in the broadcast industry for over 30 years and is currently the morning show host at MIXX 96.1 Radio in Olympia. He is also the owner of McMurphy Media, an audio-video production company.
Kent has served as Chair of the Puyallup Parks Board, was a member of the Puyallup Police Department's Citizen Advisory Board, was an advisory board member at Bates Technical College, a past member of the Big Brothers program, former Entertainment Coordinator for Meeker Days, and served as a youth sports coach of Girls Fastpitch and Soccer. He is currently serving on the board of the Puyallup Food Bank.
Kent ran for the Council because he feels that it's important we put back into our community some of what we take out of it. "I am very proud to have been chosen to represent the citizens of the third district. I will strive to help move our city forward by making decisions that not only serve the citizens of the third district, but Puyallup as a whole.
"I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me with your questions and concerns. Together we can make Puyallup the envy of surrounding communities."
Kent currently serves on the following boards:
City of Puyallup Ad Hoc Appointments Committee
City of Puyallup Ad Hoc Community Organization Funding Review Committee
Rainier Communications Commission
Current term began: January 2010
Term expires: December 2013
