District 1 - Nicole Martineau
Nicole Martineau was appointed to fill the vacant District I seat on January 13, 2010. Nicole said she applied for the position to serve the community.
“I will work hard to represent the community in an ethical and respectable manner in this leadership role,” she said. “I appreciate the opportunity to work with, and for, community members of District 1 as well as represent all residents of the city of Puyallup.”
A long-time resident of Puyallup, Nicole attended Aylen Jr. High School and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1995. At Pierce College Puyallup she was Vice President for Government Concerns of the Associated Student Body. She received a BA in Business Administration from Washington State University.
Some of Nicole’s previous work experience includes consulting manager and events planner and fundraiser with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She is currently a Para-educator for the Puyallup School District.
Nicole met her husband Jeff while in school at Washington State University. They’ve been married for eight years. Jeff works as a police officer for a local law enforcement agency. The couple has three dogs - Paris, Freckles, and Max (who was recently adopted from the Metro Animal Shelter).
