Red-Light Photo Enforcement
What is automated photo-enforcement?
The City of Puyallup implemented an intersection safety program which uses automated traffic safety cameras to enforce Puyallup traffic laws governing red light violations.
Effective June 2008 red light violations captured by cameras at selected intersections can result in a Notice of Infraction which carries a $124.00 penalty. By state law, infractions captured through the use of automated safety cameras are not reported to Department of Licensing and do not become part of the driver's record. If an infraction is issued and the driver fails to respond or pay the ticket, the account may be transferred to a collection agency.
If you wish to request a hearing please refer to the Hearing Request Form included with your Notice of Infraction. The form must be mailed by the due date to:
Puyallup Municipal Court at 929 E Main, Suite 120, Puyallup, Washington 98372.
A hearing date will be issued and mailed to the address indicated on your request form. All hearings are held at the Puyallup Municipal Court.
If your vehicle was in the care or control of another person at the time the infraction was issued you may complete the Declaration of Non-Liability (also included with the Notice of Infraction) and mail it to the Court at the address indicated above.
Puyallup Court does not accept payments for photo enforcement tickets.
Payments are processed by ATS and submitted in one of three ways listed below:
Mailed to: Puyallup Photo Enforcement Program, P.O. Box 742503, Cincinnati, Ohio 45274-2503;
or pay on-line at www.violationinfo.com (the pin number from your notice will be needed);
or pay by phone at 1-866-790-4111.
The City urges you to drive carefully and be aware of red lights. Please always slow down for a yellow light and stop on the red. Running red lights is a serious offense that can have fatal consequences. We encourage you to discuss this program and information with anyone who drives your vehicle.
