Red-Light Photo Enforcement

Have you recently received a notification letter of an upaid red-light camera ticket?...

In October of this year a large number of unpaid, older red-light camera ticket accounts began the process of transfering to a new collection agency (Dynamic Collections in Chehalis, WA).   Instead of directly assigning the accounts into full collection, the Court has authorized a limited 30-day amnesty period during which the original $124.00 ticket can be paid to Puyallup Municipal Court without any late fees or collection costs.

The amnesty period begins from the date contained in the notification letter and is in effect for 30 days.  This is a unique opportunity to pay an old red-light ticket before it re-assigns to the new collection agency.  Any account that goes beyond the amnesty period will be considered in full collection.

What is red-light camera enforcement?

The City of Puyallup implemented an intersection safety program in 2008 which uses automated cameras to enforce red-light violations.  These infractions have a $124.00 penalty, and by state law are not listed on your driving record.  Red-light tickets are processed similar to a parking violation and if left unpaid may result in failure to renew your vehicle registration.

You have three options in responding to red-light infractions:

1)  Submit the $124 payment to the Court within 30 days from the date the infraction was issued; or

2)  Request a hearing (see page 3 of your notice entitled hearing request coupon);  or

3)  Submit the Declaration (see page 4 of your infraction notice).

Payments can be made in person at the clerk's front counter window (during regular office hours, M-F 8:30 to noon; 1 - 4:30 PM);
or mailing to:  Puyallup Municipal Court, 929 E Main, Puyallup, WA 98372;
or on line at:  www.puyalluptix.com

The Court does not accept payments by phone.
