Star Wars Reads Day

10/12, 11:00 am-12:00 pm

Puyallup Public Library
324 S Meridian
Puyallup, WA 98371

Come celebrate Star Wars Reads Day at the Puyallup Public Library! We’ll have crafts, games and trivia for all your Star Wars fans.  Costumes are encouraged! This event is free and open to all ages.

“Reading and Star Wars have gone hand-in-hand since 1976, when the novelization of the original Star Wars movie was released. Over the years, many fans have discovered the joy in reading through Star Wars books, and we hope to continue encouraging more people to read" says Carol Roeder, Director of Publishing at Lucasfilm.

Be sure to join us in the afternoon for From Golden Age to a Galaxy Far Away, a lecture on the influence of the 1930s and 40s - include Hollywood, comics, and WWII - and how that shaped the Star Wars saga.  Our speaker will be Cole Horton, astromech builder and Star Wars expert.

Need more Star Wars in your life?  Tacoma Public Library will also be offering Star Wars Reads Day events on October 5th!  You can meet an R2 unit and find out how to build your own or get an early chance to listen to Cole Horton's From Golden Age to a Galaxy Far Away lecture.
