Slavery in the Northwest: The Charles Mitchell Story

3/13, 7:00 pm

Puyallup Public Library
324 S Meridian
Puyallup WA 98371

The Friends of the Library will be hosting their Annual Meeting and Program on March 13, 2013.  Join us for a conversation about Charles Mitchell, an Antebellum slave brought to the Washington territory.  His break for freedom in 1860 nearly brought the U.S. and Canada to war.  Actress and storyteller Eva Abram will be sharing American History from an African-American perspective.

The program will start at 7:00 PM, on March 13th, in the Library Meeting Rooms.  Refreshments will be served prior to the program, at 6:30 PM.  This event is presented courtesy of the Friends of the Library and the Humanities Washington Speakers' Bureau.
