PPL Teen Anime Club: Saint Young Men

2/5, 3:00 pm-5:00 pm

Puyallup Public Library
324 S. Meridian
Puyallup, WA 98371

This month we'll be watching Saint Young Men (not rated).

What if Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha were living on Earth in modern times? And what if they shared an apartment… in Japan? Saint Young Men is a comedy that shows the daily lives of Jesus and Buddha, vacationing on earth and sharing an apartment in Tokyo. Expect jokes about Christianity, Buddhism, and all things related, as both religious figures try to hide their identities and understand modern Japanese society. Each chapter focuses on some element of everyday life, such as holidays, rush hour, using a public pool, or visiting Disneyland.

Anime Club meets almost every month to watch shows, read manga, and have a good time. If you're an anime fan or just getting started on your first series, check it out! This event is aimed at teens ages 13+.

Do you have requests for future anime club screenings? Send your suggested titles to Young Adult Librarian Bonnie S at bsvitavsky@ci.puyallup.wa.us.
