Map making and Geography Games

5/9, 3:45 pm-4:45 pm

Puyallup Public Library
324 S. Meridian
Puyallup, WA 98371

Trace the route Petra and Calder follow during their hunt for the painting, then create your own treasure map (of the library? Or Pioneer Park, like the Hyde Park neighborhood in which Chasing Vermeer takes place?) and a treasure box.

Part of the “Read Outside the Lines” series of programs for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders revolving around great children’s literature. Each program will include poems, a selection from the book Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett, and fun related activities. Note: it is not required to read Chasing Vermeer in order to enjoy these activities--but we do hope it will encourage everyone to check out the book, and other similarly great books. As an added bonus, those who attend 3 or more programs will get a FREE copy of the book. No registration required.
