A Community Celebration of 100 Years of the Puyallup Public Library

10/19, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm

Puyallup Public Library
324 S Meridian
Puyallup, WA 98371

The Puyallup Public Library will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the original 1913 Carnegie Library Building with a day full of fun, literature, and history. During the evening open house, the Library Foundation will seek donations to match a $12,000 grant from Jerry Korum to create online access to the collection housed in the library's local history room.

Events planned for the open house include:

  • Meet and have books signed by local authors and illustrators, including Bonny Becker, Laura McGee Kvasnosky, Suzanne Selfors, and others.

  • A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to climb up into the Library's clock tower. A donation and signed liability release will be required.
  • Representatives from the Puyallup Historical Scoiety at Meeker Mansion and the South Hill Historical Society will be on hand to share their expertise about Puyallup history.

  • Items for sale will include original art by Stephan Pastis and a 100th anniversary quilt.
