The lahar warning siren system will sound at noon today. This is the regularly scheduled monthly test of the system to ensure it is in good working order in the event of a real emergency.

Come learn more about plans for a new Puyallup public safety building which would consolidate our police department, jail and municipal court in one location. Representatives from the city and from the Mackenzie Architecture firm will be available to answer questions.

Rogers High School students and staff will honor Staff Sergeant Ronald J. Shurer, U.S. Army, retired, with a monument to be dedicated on Friday, December 6th at 3:30 p.m. at Rogers Highs School. The ceremony is open to the public. Shurer graduated from Rogers in the Class of 1997.
Staff Sergeant Shurer received the Medal of Honor, our nation's highest military decoration, in October 2018 from the President on behalf of the Congress and American people.
The Puyallup Valley VFW Post 2224 spearheaded a fundraising campaign to honor Staff Sergeant Shurer with a monument to serve as an example for students and the community at large of the service and sacrifice military members may give when called upon to defend our country. Their successful effort was made possible by significant donations from the South Hill Puyallup Rotary Club, Veterans United Home Loans, and individual donations from veterans, community members and organizations.

The Lighted Santa Parade is one of the highlights of the holiday season in Downtown Puyallup. Over 100 parade entries light up Meridian on one magical evening. The parade will include floats, marching bands and antique tractors, and of course Jolly Old Saint Nick himself. The annual ritual lighting of the Children's Tree in Pioneer Park will follow the parade.
The theme to this year's Santa Parade is "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." The Grand Marshal will be World War II Veteran Loren Kissick.
