Commercial and Office Development

Commercial and office activity also remains strong in the City. To date, eight 10,000-20,000 square foot Class A small office buildings have been constructed in the past eight years in the Riverside Commercial Plat on East Main. Several other office/commercial buildings have been recently occupied and/or are under construction in the City, including the Puyallup Executive Park Phase III offices (20,000 square feet), Jerome Center Commercial on River Road (18,000 square feet), the Evergreen Office Building on 39th Avenue SW (20,500 square feet), Puyallup Medical Building (47,000 square feet), the Meridian Office (27,000 square feet), Dahan Medical (35,000 square feet) and Cascade Intervention Pain Center (5,000 square feet). On East Pioneer, a 56,000 square foot self storage facility opened in 2004; a similar sized mini-storage facility is now finishing construction on 39th Avenue SE. A smaller scaled version of 7,200 square feet of warehouse storage use was permitted on 5th St. SE.

Two significant retail/office shopping centers, Pioneer Crossing (40,738 square feet) and East Town Crossing (107,092 square feet) located at the southwest and southeast corners of Shaw Road and Pioneer respectively, are both under permit review in 2010.
