Recommended Action

Recognize Esabella Hinton for her lifesaving actions on April 19, 2013.

Background
On April 19, 2013 at 11:03 p.m., Puyallup Police Officers responded to NW Nitro RC Hobbies located at 412 East Main to provide assistance to Central Pierce Fire and Rescue on a call concerning an individual pinned under a vehicle. The individual, Brandon Hinton, had a Volkswagen pickup raised on jacks while working underneath when the support collapsed, pinning him under the vehicle. Mr. Hinton’s 13-year-old daughter, Esabella Hinton, was at the location and called 911. Esabella remained calm and spoke with 911 dispatchers providing valuable information that was relayed to Fire personnel and medics responding to the scene. Esabella waved the responding units in to the business. Esabella’s quick actions and clear thinking saved the life of her father, Brandon Hinton.
